#Family Strong 2/6/17
Family has been so supportive with daily check ins, phone calls and texts to make sure we are staying positive and looking towards the future. I am thankful of friends and family who support us on this journey I really feel they believe in us and our love.
Thanks to all who may read this.

#just thinking 2/7/17
This week brought about a lot of emotion. My husband and I have been active on parentfinder and facebook for a month and have had a few connections but not many. I have met a lot of incredible women through adoption support groups on facebook. We are all now in this together...waiting! Waiting for the match!
On Friday after havign had a lovely evening with friends I found myself feeling down. I confided in my husband and told him "what are we missing? what don't we have that others have? we have so much love to share! Can't people see that?" I was forgetting all the wonderful things that had happened to us along this journey thus far. 1.) We have a great lawyer who cares about us, 2.) we have an incredible social worker who we will remain friends with for hopefully ever! 3.) We are home study approved 4.) We have this fabulous website 5.) We had a great friend help us make a beautiful video 6.) we had former students testify that they think the world of us, 7.) we have met so many kind people through facebook and support groups 8.) one expecting birth mother reached out to us and found comfort in speaking to me for over an hour and a half 9.) someone texted our baby phone last night and we are now waiting for another text.
We had a great weekend with family when we visited Pennsylvania. They were all so supportive our journey and it really moved us. Sunday morning we woke up rejuvenated and thankful.
It is okay to have down days, but in the end "you need to believe." You need to have faith, hope and most of all love. I will continue to work hard to have all.
Thanks for reading.

#Excited 2/7/17
In the past two days we have had multiple phone calls but people are calling, saying hello and then hanging up nerve-racking on both ends I am sure! But if you are seeing this please know "we are good people, if you just need to vent or talk we are here too! Please consider staying on the phone if for nothing other than to make a friend. We don't know what you are going through but we are kind, understanding, compassionate people and two teachers with a lot of patience we practice daily <3 516-675-1947 is always on! #adoption #adopt #lovemakesafamily #here
#Love 2/10/17
I am laying here in bed about to go to sleep and am thinking how lucky I am to be beside my husband. Today was just another ordinary day but it was perfect in its own way because he was in it. Friday nights are usually our stay in nights. We rented a movie and made a pizza pie and cuddled up on the couch with our dog and had a fire. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but to me that is the best kind of night there is. Honestly, the only way it could be better is if we had a baby to share it with. we have an enormous amount of love for one another and an enormous amount of love to share. Our lifestyle is so conducive to a child. It is truly a dream we have that we hope can be fulfilled in 2017. I'm going to bed feeling hopeful and believing god has a plan for us to have a family and become the four muskateers.
#Rollercoaster 2/12/17
Quote of the day, haha, "Adoption is like a rollercoaster. One minute you're riding high and life is good, the next "face palm." -Her
No author for that quote but I like it! It really is a rollercoaster and we are not even in the thick of it yet. But, man on man, do we want to be!
Life takes time. God, takes time. We have to be patient...it's just...I'm in love with a child I have not met yet. We have so much love for one another and so much love to give and share. Just ask any of our family members or friends and they will be sure to tell you!
We have a nursery we have painted a beautiful, neutral light green color. We have one piece of art in there that says "good things take time." I keep the door open to the nursery as a reminder to myself. A reminder that, yes I have to have faith hope and love but I also have to take action. I cannot sit back and just wait for things to happen. I have to blog. I have to write, I have to try to reach out.
So here's to waiting, trying and praying

#waiting 2/12/17
Good Afternoon! Past couple days have been hard just waiting for a phone call, message or anything ha ha When times are tough, sometimes you just have to rely on the inner part of your body where you just won't give up! I am exiting to see what this week brings to us! #PostiveEngery2017

#Teaching/Making a difference 2/13/17
Today was a great day of instruction. My kids came ready to learn and I received thank-yous at the end of the lesson. I enjoy teaching art and I enjoy my students. Middle school is a fun age to teach because everyone is trying to figure out who they are and what they like. Often, I double up as a teacher and a mentor. Students feel they can come to me, open up about their issues and express themselves safely verbally and artistically. Sometimes, my job becomes more art therapy than just art! But I do not mind. Teaching at a title 1 school is very rewarding. Our students receive free and reduced meals for lunch and breakfast. Some students receive after school food as well. Many of our students have a lot of extra baggage they are bringing from home. If I can be a light for them for just an hour and a half each day I am delighted.
They are constantly asking me "when are you going to have children?" I say "I already have 150 of them, you all!" But I do want to raise a child. More than they know.

#work Friends 2/13/17
Today at working I was speaking with some friends that are currently pregnant. We joke around that I am "paperwork pregnant." :) They are going to try to make there own baby food. I usually do the cooking at our house and my hubby raves about it! I think I am going to make my own baby food as well! :)
#happy valentines day 2/14/17
:) Happy Valentines Day to everyone! I woke up this morning to coffee waiting for me on my nightstand! My husband sure does know the way to my heart! My adorable 6th grade students have already brought me little home-made cards and students are delivering roses to teachers! I also got an adorable photo of my little 2 month old nephew in his valentines day outfit!

#yay on valentines day 2/14/17
Today while I was teaching our baby phone started ringing! I was so excited but had a class of 35 kids! I had hoped the caller had left a voicemail but they did not! Still so exciting to see the light blink! I am feeling so positive right now! Can’t wait to go to dinner with the hubby and be happy and joyous together!

#Thankful 2/15/17
A lot happened yesterday but the best thing was celebrating the love between my husband and I. He goes above and beyond to make me feel special and I am so lucky to have him. I know it sounds silly, we have our moments, but most days feel like valentine's day for us! Have a great Wednesday everyone! Off to teach art!

Valentines day after 2/15/17
Yesterday when the kids asked me about Valentines, I told them everyday is Valentine's day with Lauren. So, when I got into my first period class a student brought a cookie in for me and said Happy Everyday Valentines share it with your wife! Kids are so creative!
#toocute 2/15/17
One of my students today jokingly asked " can I be your son will you adopt me?" We laughed about it and I realized after some reflection why he asked that question. I am strict with my students and they know my expectations are high for them. They also know that I care for them so much and that I will always be there for them and proud of them. I really do feel the teaching in someways reflects parenting
#birthday surprise 2/16/17
Brendan’s birthday is coming up next week! I love doing things for just him and I try to not only do those things on his birthday. Before we got married we would created what we call “appreciation days.” These days consist of surprise plans that we create for one another. I would design “Brendan Appreciation Day” and he would design “Lauren Appreciation Day.” We still do these and we love them :) Love for one another should not only be expressed on one day!
#momma visits 2/16/17
Mom came by for dinner tonight :) We had stuffed shells, salad and bread! Love having an Italian mother that can cook :) She would love to have a grandbaby and she wants to watch the baby when we go back to work! :)
#names 2/17/17
I know I was getting ahead of myself today. But again one of my students asked me if I had children. I said "no, I have all of you!" Of course I want a family more than anything and more than they know! We then discussed how they got their name and what their middle name was. I really want for the birthmother/father to have part of their family in the name :) Again, just dreaming, we are not matched. But doesn't that sound nice?!
Bday Weekend 2/18/17
This weekend is all about celebrating my boo!
Healthy 2/19/17
Healthy breakfast made and a beautiful run on a warm day with a great partner! We would be such heathy parents! ☀️️
Family matters 2/19/17
Great time seeing Brendans cousin put lacrosse in our nations capital! Always great seeing family
#gorgeous day 2/20/17
Today is another gorgeous 60 degree day! I am currently cleaning the inside of the house because one of my best friends from when I was 14 is coming over to visit with her husband! We have seen one another in the past month but they have not been over to our home since the summer time. We have done so much work inside to make it our own! Hard to believe it has almost been two years this June! Brendan has really become a handyman! My father and Brendan tiled the kitchen with backsplash! Brendan and his father replaced all of our ceiling and outside light fixtures! I am so impressed :) Today I was able to snag a picture of the boys outside! Cannot wait to see a child running someday in our big, fenced in backyard! We have already hosted a few cookouts and birthday parties back there! :)
#Birthday2/21/17
Sorry I have not posted since the 20th! We were busy celebrating Brendan's 32nd birthday! We had a lovely dinner out with our good friend's Sam and Ben on Monday. We have been friends with Sam and Ben for many years and we would do anything for one another! So nice having a day off from work! Last night, 2/21 was Brendan's actual birthday and even though we had to work he still had a nice day! He got lots of gifts and we went out to eat at our favorite local spot :) Brendan went to bed very thankful for all the family and friends he has in his life! :) Here is a pic of the handsome guy with some of his cards and gifts!

#lovemykids 2/24/17
Today for lunch I had multiple students stay in to have fun and spray paint outside! We conversed about graffiti and the famous painter Jackson Pollock and then we painted away. The weather is gorgeous today! One of my students staggered when leaving. She is a student that tends to stay on the "naughty list". She said all was fine and that I would make an incredible mother. Then she walked away.
Maybe it's the weather, but I was really touched!
Going to see my cousins play tonight she has a lead role. Excited to see my extended family. ❤️

#Sunday Fun Day 2/27/17
Started the day off right by attending mass! We love our church it is beautiful inside with all wooden beams and stained glass! The sermon was a great one day and we always meet a few nice people when leaving! Maybe a few prayers were said in hopes of adopting :) After mass we went to costco and stocked up on fruits and seafood :)So exciting, LOL
Friends through adoption 2/26/17
Tonight we had dinner with two friends who adopted both of their children! They were blessed twice through adoption! So incredible! If we are ever to be blessed through adoption the children will know others who were also adopted.
